Easter Egg???

I was trying to walk somewhere but the world failed to load fast enough so I fell through the ground. I randomly found this object, which looks like a strange head with a top hat. Is this some sort of gag or easter egg by the devs? It's persistent if you're not too close to it, get closer than this and it goes away.
